Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the web, including her own launched single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on 21 July 2015. Later that year her music was circulating around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him for some potential references to Rihanna. The official signing ceremony was held to Dreamville Records on 8 December. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She dropped Pho, her debut album on October 21st, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was also featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. She released her second single for Grampa on November 9. On November 13 she then came out with two additional singles, the No One or Pedigree. She performed with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then she released the song in a solo version for her debut album. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within one week, it was watched by more than 3,000,000 people. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
